Convertible Dining Table

Convertible Dining Table for Versitility

Although everyone has heard of a convertible car, many have no idea what a convertible dining table is. Also called a 3-in-1 table, this particular design is made to “convert” from a dining table for two to six, along with transforming from a table on which you eat to a table on which to play cards. This type of versatility is excellent for people who love to entertain or host special family or holiday meals and events.

This type of convertible dining table does even more. When folded completely up, the table can be turned into a console. This way, you could place the table up next to a sofa or against a wall in the foyer, similar to that of a sideboard. To give you an idea of what you end up with, the console might measure 40 inches wide by 20 inches long and 30 inches wide.

Then for the card or gaming table, the size changes to 40 inches wide by 40 inches long and 30 inches high. However, if you need a full size dining room table, you can expand it even further so it measures 40 inches wide, 72 inches long, and 30 inches high. The convertible dining table is so amazing that sales across the country have skyrocketed.

Another nice aspect of the convertible dining table is the long list of styles. For instance, if you wanted something elegant and sophisticated, you might choose a table in a Queen Anne style, with a rich cherry finish. Now, if you preferred something a little more contemporary, perhaps a Mission style convertible dining table made from pine or oak would be more to your liking. Additionally, a traditional or country style is also available, something like oak with rugged lines and oversized legs.

When shopping around for a convertible dining table, we do recommend that you make sure the wood is solid and hardwood. You might also want to look to see if the design is on both sides so you could place the table, as you need it. Then, since this type of table unfolds into the various sizes and configurations, be sure you purchase on with a hinged design that will allow the table to extend fully.

Remember, a convertible dining table adds class not just to the dining room but the living room or entryway as well. Therefore, if you live in a small studio apartment without a dining room table but a small area inside the front door, you could easily fold the convertible table into the small size, pulling it out when ready for dinner or entertaining friends.
